The C.A. Knight Aquatic Center, Fort McMurray, Alberta

The C.A. Knight Aquatic Centre in Fort McMurray Alberta is now completed construction. This facility is considered to be the largest indoor aquatic centre in North America, featuring 5 Myrtha Pools.

The Competition Pool is 55-metres x 25-metres with 2 Myrtha Movable Bulkheads and Dive Bubble Training System. The pool was constructed to tolerances of +/- 2mm in ALL dimensions. There is also a 25-Metre Myrtha Warm-up pool, a very large Myrtha Leisure Pool with beach entry, a river ride and vortex area, a water play area and a 3,000 square foot Splash area and a slide landing pool for two flume rides, all with Myrtha Softwalk padded floor. Finally there are 2 Myrtha Whirlpools, one raised above the pool deck with Myrtha Vanishing Edge profile, and one at deck level with the first Myrtha Bubble Beds in Canada.

The facility is truly awe-inspiring. Architect is Barr-Ryder Architects and Planners in Edmonton, AB, Aquatics Consultant is Water Technology Inc. of Beaver Dam, WI.
